Bio sketch:
Irakli Tskhvediani is a professor of English and American literature at Akaki Tsereteli State University in Kutaisi, Georgia. He received his PhD from Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in 2002. Professor Tskhvediani's scholarly interests focus on the aesthetics of literary modernism. He has published extensively on the modernist mythopoeia and urban aesthetics in English and American modernist novel concentrating on the experimental narratives of James Joyce and John Dos Passos. He has supervised four PhD and dozens of MA dissertations on modern English and American Literature. From 2005 to 2011 Professor Tskhvediani served as the chair of the Department of Western European and American Literature at Akaki Tsereteli State University. Currently he is the director of graduate (MA) program in American studies and co-director of the PhD program in American literature. In 2010 and 2011, Prof. Tskhvediani was a visiting Fulbright scholar at the University of California in Santa Cruz. In 2014-2015 he was an Erasmus Mundus post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Graz (Austria). Professor Tskhvediani is a series editor of the International Journal of American Studies to be published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
